About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

New $1.00 sequins....

Here's what I've created for you...

Now who doesn't need THANK YOU cards in their stash?? My idea was to make a couple at a time, have them flat and mailable as well as cheery!  I also wanted to make some cards that didn't include coloring for those who don't color that much.

I started out cutting several flags from the Flag Banner die set in various paper designs.  This is where double sided paper or using up your scraps come in handy. I simply layered them altering the colors and then using the stitched circle die from Stitched In Circle die set to form my center circle.  For the bottom layer I used the new Crazy stitched Frame dies.  Nestled in the center is the THANKS die from the new GREETING WORD dies.  After adhering this to the center I did run it thru my Big Shot again, it kinda smooshed it into the background making it look like it was part of the paper.

Just a fun, easy, and great way to mass produce super fun Thank you cards...hmmm maybe I need to send one to Tara to Thank her for such a great release!!! lol

You are my hero

Good morning!  A new linky party starts today over at the CDD blog.  The theme is masculine so with Fathers Day coming up I thought this would be a perfect card for my daughter (yes daughter) to give my husband. My daughter loves Superheros and she is already saying she wants to be like her Dad when she grows up.

To start I stamped the mask image sporadically on some watercolor paper then clear embossed it. Next I took some Tim Holtz Distress inks to achieve the color I wanted. I cut it down into several strips of paper in a burst pattern using the "L" shape die from the INLINE DIE set. I loved the stitching that comes on both sides   I adhered that to some black glitter cardstock and cut it again with my picture frame die. I did add a couple of layers of UTE powder to finish it off.

The word DADDY came from the SUGAR and SPICE stamp set, "you are my hero" came from CALLING ALL SUPERHEROS and the bat came from FRIGHT NIGHT. The center scalloped oval is from FANCY STITCHED LABELS, then I used the stitched oval from BANNER DIES.

I hope you join in the fun over at CRAFTIN' desert divas!
Thank you for stopping by😘

You are out of this world...

Good morning y'all! I am popping on here today to share a project I made for my turn at the daily post here on the CDD blog. I just adore how fun the May release is to create with! Life has been a "little crazy" to put it nicely so I have fallen behind in my craftin unfortunately.  I hope soon to be able to catch up!

To make the card base I cut out two solid white layers with the PICTURE FRAME die as well as another one in my designer paper for the front.  I scored one of the white layers to turn it into a card base.  I also cut out another layer of acetate to put on the outside of the card.  I nestled a stitched frame die from the Fancy Frame die set in order to make it into a shaker card. The space background was created using my Copic markers as well as some of my Tim Holtz distress inks.

The sentiments came from the ADVENTURE AWAITS stamp set, and the main images came from the coordinating accessory set called ADVENTURE LAND. I used the new FLAG BANNER dies to stamp the sentiment on. I am in love with the color combo in the new COMET sequins so I of course had to add those!! Lastly I added a few of the stitched stars from the BANNER DIES set to finish it off

Thank you and have an AWESOME crafty day!

HUGS,
Lisa B.
