About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

In the Garden

Good morning y'all! Today starts a new linky party over at Craftin' Desert Divas.  The theme is "In the garden".

I knew I had to break out my favorite & adorable Garden Cuties stamp set.  I wanted to keep the card simple since the images just steals the show. After coloring up the image I used my Fancy Frame dies to cut out the layers and that was it!

I hope you come on by and play along with us over at Craftin' Desert Divas!

Have a great day & Happy Crafting!

Shut the Front Door!!!!

Good morning my crafty friends! I am here with you today to share  a project I made for today's daily post over on the CDD blog.

I had to use this stamp sentiment since it is one of my all time favorite sayings!! LOL  Shut the front door!!! And now I have it in a stamp form thanks to Tara!

To make this card I used some distress inks to create the background on watercolor paper.  Next I used the PICTURE FRAME die to cut out the base with the2 of the FANCY STITCHED SCALLOP dies nestled in the center.  This is where my magnetic platform comes in handy on my Big Shot!  I used the same configuration to cut out two layers of craft foam to fit the shape of my die combo. For the window I used some acetate sheets that I cut out with my PICTURE FRAME die so I can glue it to the front in order to make my shaker card.  The sentiments all came from the new WISHFUL THOUGHTS stamp set which I embossed in black. I filled the center with some PIZAZZ sequins mixed with a little FAIRY DUST sequins. To finish it off I used some silver glitter paper with my star die from POCKET PIECES HELLO.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed my little project I shared with you all.

HAPPY CRAFTING!

The good ol' days

Good morning y'all!  Today starts a new challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters, I sure hope you come on over and play along with us.  The theme is GENERATIONS, to use an old picture on your project or anything about generations.  At first I wasn't sure what I would do, but then I remembered some of my gorgeous Graphic 45 papers I had in my stash that would work perfectly.

To make this altered composition notebook I simply used some Graphic 45 Couture paper.  I fell in love with the sentiment and based the design around that pre made cut out that was in the paper pad. I thought this would make a great journal, diary etc. I hung a Tim Holtz metal distressed vintage key on the front that says MEMORIES.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  Hope you have a great day and HAPPY CRAFTING!!!!

Let's Shake it Up over at Craftin' Desert Divas

Good morning y'all!  Today starts a new linky party over at Craftin' Desert Divas with a "Shake-It Up" theme.  I have been wanting to make a card like this for awhile now, and thanks to my Misti I was able to make it happen!

I embossed a Zebra print background that I have had for years (company went out of business) and then inked it up with some Tim Holtz distress inks. I cut out the base with the new PICTURE FRAME dies and matted that on a normal card base.  Next I used my Stitched-In Circle dies for the scalloped circle as well as the base. To get the distress look on the background I used some of my Tim Holtz reinkers mixed with water.  The adorable zebra is from WILDLY CUTE, the balloons are from the PARTY DIES set and last but not least the sentiment as well as the BIG die cut is from the newly released WISHFUL THOUGHTS stamp set and WISHFUL THOUGHTS WORD dies. I did use a mixture of CDD sequins called BLUE HEARTS, PINK HEARTS, a few from SHERBERT as well as some that have been discontinued.

I sure hope you come on over and play along with our SHAKE-IT up linky party over at CDD!

Happy Crafting!

CDD APRIL RELEASE BLOG HOP

Welcome to the CDD April Product Release Blog Hop.
All stamps are in the CDD Shop and now available for purchase HERE.

Melon Drop

Moonlit Kisses

Violet Flicker

Here's what I've created for you...

I made this set of cards by randomly stamping and embossing one of the flowers from the Botanical Layers flower stamp set in white.  I shaded in the flowers a little bit to make them pop a little.  I used the tag die from MIX IT UP as well as the PICTURE FRAME die to create the base of the card. To make the edge of the banner fit the shape of the picture frame die I ran the banner thru with the picture frame die.

I used the HELLO sentiment from the POCKET PIECES HELLO die set as well as the SORRY from the new WISHFUL THOUGHTS dies.  I did cut out several layers of each using the blue left over scraps and topped it with a melon colored card stock ( I hate wasting anything...lol). My deepest sympathy sentiment came from the WISHFUL THOUGHTS stamp set.  I love this set! Has so many great sentiments in a awesome selection of sizes.

To finish the card off I took some Doodlebug Sprinkles and scattered them on the cards.  I made a total of three cards with one sheet of card stock (not including the bases).  This was a great way to make a bunch of cards at once!  This is a normal 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card so you can see how big the PICTURE FRAME die is!!! Plus it is double stitched!!
