About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

Playing along with Craftin' Desert Divas Linky Party

I saw the current linky party over at Craftin' Desert Divas blog and decided to play along.  Well truth be told I was set on cleaning and while I was cleaning I found some summer papers that made me stop and say out loud "these would go perfect with the new CDD bears"!  Needless to say my ADHD kicked in and I threw the cleaning to the curb and crafting away I went!! Cleaning really is under-rated anyway....lol

These bears were just the cutest!! I fell in love with them.  The set is called GOTTA WEAR SHADES.  The little bear looked like it was waving so I paired it with the Hello sentiment from SAY IT BIG.  The papers are from Echo Parks Summer Bliss. I colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers then added some Glossy Accents to the eye glasses and the flower as well as some Stickles on the water.

I am linking this up to their sketch linky party which ends this weekend I believe.  Okay off to find something else to color!!

Favorite Color Combo

Good morning everyone!  It is a great day with a new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Crafters.  The challenge is to make a project using your favorite color.  I think it is funny how your tastes change with time.  I used to love very plain basic neutral colors.  Now I am all about the bold and beautiful!  I got this paper pad and started to use it to make a project for a friend.  I have not been able to get enough of the teal and the orange together.  I would of never looked twice at those colors but now I LOVE them!

The stamp set I used was from Craftin' Desert Divas new release called SAY IT BIG.  Love those sentiments and I gotta say when I got it in the mail they were so much nicer than they looked on the screen.  LOVE THEM!

Star Wars card

Good afternoon everyone!  We have a birthday party to go to today and he loves Star Wars so I came up with this to attach to his gift.

I used a Tag Gift card holder by Lori Whitlock from the Silhouette store and enlarged it to a nice size.  I wanted it to stick out on my gift bag.  I used Yoda from Too Cute By Jessica's GALACTIC PALS set.  The sentiment I used came from Peachy Keens PKSC-30 June 2014 Stamp of the month set.  I thought the face from PK-1357 Sweet on You Face Assortment set would look adorable for Yoda so I went for it!  I used my Spectrum Noir markers to add a bit of color to his face. I changed the insert and took out the little notches that would normally hold the gift card and added a base to it.  I will have my girls fill it out before they give it to him.  I tucked in the ribbon behind the card just for the photo but I will have that tied around the gift bag.  All the paper came from WE R's Hip Hip hooray line.
