About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

Day #2 of Back to School projects

Hello again!  I am popping in here again to share with you some more projects I made for the KaDoodle Bug Designs and Too Cute By Jessica Facebook Fanpage hop.  Today I am showcasing Feelin' Nerdy Bears which you can find HERE. I used the adorable little nerdy boy bear to decorate a dry erase board. Perfect to keep track of homework or it makes a perfect teacher gift!  For my next project I made the coffee mug from SVG Cuts  Farmhouse Kitchen  file and decorated it with the sweet girl bear also from Feelin' Nerdy. I am in love with this paper pack by Cosmo Cricket called Art Angel.  So much that I didn't want to use it. Even the quality of the paper is amazing.  I am going to give this mug to my girls teacher on their first day of school.  I figured she can use the mug afterwards to hold pencils or what not on her desk.  It is hard to tell from the picture but it is a really nice size.  I didn't alter the size on the mug or the bear, they just fit perfectly together.  I used the #1 Teacher sentiment stamp from Peachy Keens SOTM set from last year.  The picture doesn't do the mug justice...can you tell I love this mug! If I didn't stamp on it I would be tempted to keep it for myself! LOL

I hope you enjoyed my projects I shared with you all today!

KaDoodle Bug Designs and Too Cute By Jessica Facebook FP hop!

I am participating in a fun hop over on Facebook with KaDoodle Bug Designs and Too Cute by Jessica.  Hop along with us to win some super fun prizes. You can start HERE at the beginning.  Make sure to visit everyone and leave comments to be in the running for two $20 GC one to each store.

For my projects I used A Raggedy School Year and the Back To School Title both found in the KBD store. First I made a pencil box from a file that I bought from the Silhouette Store.  Super cute way to spruce up a gift of pencils.  You can fill it with other items as well.  Then I made a matching Post-It Note holder with the clip art from the set. The paper I used was by October Afternoon and the card stock American Crafts.

Tomorrow will be day #2 of the hop so don't forget to hop along both days for extra chances at winning!

Oh Scraps!

Time for a new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Crafters.  This challenge is right up my alley.  I had so much fun it was hard to stop.  The challenge is to use your scraps.  Now I know you all probably have a larger scrap pile than you would like to admit.  I am a hoarder and keep everything from small pieces of ribbon to paper.  I know that one day I will have a use for it! LOL For this challenge I decided to make bookmarks.  It was super easy to do and a flipping great way to use up those scraps.  I cut a bunch of cardstock to 2x6.  This is a great way to cut up your solid card stock and get rid of it.  I used all one color in the pictures.  I had other colors cut but ran out of time and figured the 50 I had was a bit over the top anyway! I then sat down with my vase of scrap ribbons and went to town attaching whatever ribbon matched the paper.  And on each card they are tied in various ways, whatever the length of ribbon I had allowed. Now there is a funny story along with these.  After I was like a machine cutting my scraps down to size I was on cloud 9! I felt like I was purging and it felt so good to use this stuff up.

Well I must of been going to quickly on some of them and on one of my hands I had 4 large paper cuts and on the other I had about 3.  I had to rush from that to the dentist then straight for blood work.  As I walk up to the check-in counter I pumped some antibacterial gel onto my hands...WELL LET ME TELL YOU I think she thought I was on crack, drunk or just plain strange.  My mouth was all slanted from the Novacaine and barely open by eyes from the migraine.  I can only imagine what she was thinking once that Antibacterial wash hit those papercuts.  I looked like a Mexican Jumping bean that was ready to pass out once I stopped hopping around.  So yep using your scraps up feels good but comes with a price!! LOL

I hope you join in and hop up on the USE YOUR SCRAPS UP wagon and come along and have some fun with us!
