About Me

My photo
Carlisle, Pennsylvania
I am a stay at home mom..now that is! February 19th, 2007 I was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Florida. I awoke in ICU to find out that my only two children Annemarie age 3 and Michael age 5 did not make it. Scrapbooking became such a big part of my life. It helped fill a void that I desperately needed to fill. Our therapist suggested that I take up scrapbooking as a way to memorialize my children, little did she know! So I took that and ran with it.I became obsessed with scrapping and took over the second largest room in my house. Because of my injuries I couldn't go out and get a job, I just scrapped!I printed out 2,000 photos and my journey began. I have made albums for family members and layouts to decorate my craft room. We thought we were done having kids but who expected this tragedy??? I just gave birth in June 2009 to two beautiful baby girls Mia Anne and Gianna Marie named after their brother and sister.I swore that I would keep up with their albums so I won't become overwhelmed so we will see how that works out! My profile picture is the last family picture that was taken of all of us.

Hope...Breast cancer card

I found out that a woman that I volunteered with was just diagnosed with breast cancer. I was very touched when I found out that she said that I have inspired her and hearing my story has helped her get thru this tough time in her life. So I wanted to send her a card with some inspirational sayings and some words of hope, strength & friendship from me. I started to post this last night but I kept on looking at the card thinking that I just don't like it..something is off. SO this morning I woke up and broke down the card and took off the elements that I didn't like. I am posting both pictures but the one I didn't like is the one with the yellow flower. I am sending her the one with the flower in the upper corner and the word HOPE in the center. The adorable Breast Cancer bear is from Doodle Palace.

I made this card to fit three challenges.

Charisma Cardz Daisy Challenge

Allsorts Furry Friends Challenge

Witches Brew

I am expecting company tonight so I am busy cooking, taking care of the twins AND trying to make a card for challenges that end (some do anyway) by tomorrow. As you can see in the picture some of my webs broke and they are only really noticeable when the card is opened but I simply didn't have the time to fix it and Heck I already glued everything down so I wasn't going back! Plus...I never seen a perfect spiderweb before, well okay maybe they are but let's just pretend!

This card fits several challenges which these days is the perfect card for me! I used the witch stamp from Peachy Keen PK-615 stamp set that is on clearance in her store.

The challenges I made this card for are:

Sketch Saturday - Sketch challenge

The Corrosive Challenge - Spooky Times challenge

Crafty Creations All Hallow Eve Challenge

Stamptacular Sunday - Spooktacular challenge

Cupcake Craft - Bump in the night challenge

Stampin for the Weekend - Haunting Good Time challenge

Stamp Something Halloween challenge

Fall themed card

This was probably the fastest card that I ever made. I just love fall time so maybe that is why. I used the sketch from Get Sketchy and the fall theme/colors from the Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Picture inspiration Challenge.

CupCake Birthday wishes

One of my high school friends birthday is Monday so I wanted to hurry and make her a special card. And why not have it fit a challenge? Right!

This card is for the Peachy Keen Pink & Brown Challenge. We also had to use ribbon and some glitter. I used silver stickles for the candle. I am thinking of adding a bit of glitter to the gooey chocolate icing but I don't want to cover that scrumpish looking dessert up! I used the PK-241 Happy Birthday Kids stamp set for the sentiment and the cupcake. I wanted to keep the colors soft so I colored the cupcake in with my Prismacolor pencils and dusted the white background with a little Stampin Up! chalk. Another one of the reasons why I picked the cupcake is that we were both talking about how hard it is to diet and we desperately need to go on one!!!

SOrry about the pics but it was hard for me to keep the card closed while standing up.

Wine Bottle Tag

Here is a sneak peak of some new stamps that will be released tomorrow at Doodle Palace. I added alot of "bling" by using glitter, Stickles, and some red glitter stickers as well as glitter snowflake buttons. I used a distressing tool to rough up the edges of the green glitter paper. My friends and I are lovers of red wine so I know that I will be giving some away come this holiday season. For this tag I added the initial "B" for my friends last name. I wish I had some different colored ribbon but out of several and I mean several rolls of ribbon somehow I only have one Christmas ribbon!!

This bottle tag could be added to gift bags, door knobs or a bottle of anything that you are giving this holiday season. The tag is 9" in length so it would fit a bigger bottle also.

The tag is for Charisma Cards Distress Challenge,Digitial Tuesday's Things with Wings, and Stamp Something's Bling CHallenge.

Happy Halloween

I don't know if it happens to you crafty people out there in blog land but I had such a hard time with this card. It was suppossed to be something else entirely but I was struggling and struggling. I couldn't believe this darn card was going to take up my precious nap time (girls sleeping YIPPEE!). THen it was like a gift from the heavens. I got my package in the mail with my new Peachy Keen Stamps. When I went to her site I couldn't believe she has this set on clearance. I realized that the main image on my card I didn't like so I ended up tossing it and breaking in my new Peachy Keen stamps. I just hurried up and threw something together because I refused to let such a simple card take up anymore of my time. I just told myself that I will make a REAL card with the Halloween set for my next one. According to the website she only has like 3 sets left so you may wanna take a look. She even posted a coupon code for 10% off your order this week!

The stamps I used were Peachy Keen PK-615 Halloween Candlestick Delight

This card is for the following challenges:

C.R.A.F.T. Recipe Challenge

Inspirational Card Sketch Challenge

Cute Card Spook Fest

Happy Birthday DH!

One of my husbands dreams was to build a hot rod with my son. Sadly that will never happen since my son is now in heaven. But unfortunately since we didn't have kids that urge to build a car was able to materialize because it was just the two of us..no more saving up for kids college etc. I am glad because he really needed this and it kept him really busy. He is rebuilding a 56' Chevy Bel-Air. He had it painted Cobalt blue. When he first told me the colors I was like "UH no!" not a big fan of cobalt blue but then he told me why he wanted to choose those colors. My daughters birth stone is sapphire and my son's eyes were an amazing blue...I then fell in love with the idea. Building this car has been a form of healing for him..same as scrapping does for me. It kills him that his little man isn't with him to help but he plans to do some car shows and stuff for charity.

I went on ebay and found a stamp of a Chevy-Bel Air and I was thrilled! Well that was short lived. I got the stamp in and it is a beautiful sketch but when you stamp it, it comes out completely different and horrible!! I had to use paint, markers, stickles just to make it somewhat useable :( I never complained about anything on ebay but this will be my first! Especially because I planned to use the stamp for a scrapbook for him to show all of the pictures of the rebuild. When I was making this card I was soooo mad I started to cry! I wasn't even going to put this card up but once again "Last Minute Lisa" waited until the day before his birthday to make him a card. But then reality hit and I know the card is just gonna end up in my craft room laying around just like our anniversary card did! Men don't care about this stuff..atleast my man doesn't!

Okay...sorry about the rambling. This is also a continued part of the challenge to use the same sheet of paper until it is all gone (see 2 previous cards/posts). I completed this card to get it into several challenges and they are:

A Spoon full of Sugar Sketch Challenge I replaced the bows with buttons since it was for a man. I choose black buttons to represent "tires"

Color Throwdown challenge

Crafty Creations "Blue" challenge

I included a picture of the actual car in the midst of its journey in being rebuilt as well as a mural that was painted on the back in tribute of my children. Buzz was my son's favorite and Nemo was one of my daughters favorite movies to watch with her Grandpa who was the one who had the mural done to surprise my husband.

Congrats!

A friend of mine just found out she was pregnant after trying for many many years. I wanted to send her some Preggy Pops to help with the morning sickness. So I came up with this simple generic card that could either be for a boy or girl. The challenge to myself this week is to see how many cards I can do from one sheet of 12X12 paper. I hate cutting a piece of paper for a project and then just putting it aside. My scraps alone could probably go further than Ameila Earhart did! Most of my cards I use my scraps but for my last Rocker Boy card I cut a new sheet to fulfill a challenge. I found all the paper I used here in my scrap bins as well as the grass! When I stumbled upon that I said what a fun way to fulfill the challenge!

This card is for the Friday Sketchers challenge I used the grass and the stitching on top to represent the torn pages in the sketch.

Sneak Peak - New Release

This is an image that is due to be released tomorrow from Doodle Palace. The stamp set also comes with several sentiments that coordinate with the little rocker boy. I can make girly cards until the cows come home but boy/man cards are so hard to do because you don't want to put to much ribbon or flowers. I really think he is a cute image and could be used for almost anything. I left it generic so I could add it to my card stash and pull it out for a birthday, congrats card, or heck practically anything!

This card fits 2 challenges:

Stamp something's challenge The challenge here was to use the color brown and in different shades if you could.

Stampin' for the Weekend's challenge This was also a color challenge to use brown, orange and green.

The Boo Crew

Okey dokey...this was a project that I wanted to do for a couple of challenges combined and it took me sooooo long because I had to keep doing it in little bits and pieces because of my little "ghouls"..did I say Ghouls I meant girls at home!

These are some treat boxes made out of cardstock. Even though due to time I had to cut some corners so they didn't come out exactly like I wanted I still had fun doing them. The problem now is that there is so much work in them I don't want to give them away stuffed with candy so they could be thrown out! These coffin boxes would also look really cute as decorations around the house for Halloween. The coffins themselves are pretty big..bit bigger than a can of soda in height. There is so much detail but I didn't want to bore you with anymore photos. Each box is different in color on the inside.

Here is a brief list of supplies:

Stickles
MS Drippy Goo punch
Embossing powder
Cotton Balls
Halloween charms
Sewing machine
Pop Dots
Doodle Palace sentiment

Peachy Keen Stamps I used the Monsters & More PK-553, Ghost with pumpkin PK-623, and PK-629 for the bat. I also used the large Halloween background stamp on Mrs. Dracula's dress but that is hard to make out in the photos.

The dolls are cut out at 4" on the Cricut

I designed these boxes to fit these challenges:

The Pink Elephant

A Spoon full of Sugar

Simon Says

Wishing my Baby Boy a happy 8th Birthday in heaven

Fall time used to be my FAVORITE time of the year. I just love the colors and the changing of the leaves. But now when fall comes I start to fill with dread and heartache. My daughter's birthday is in September and then my son's shortly follows which is today. Not to mention the holidays that follow. This was one of the last pictures that I had done of him for his 5th birthday..sadly he didn't make anymore after that.

I just miss his baby blue eyes and snuggling with him in bed. I know he would say (he never liked to see me upset) "Don't cry Mommy, I will be okay" but it is just hard not to..but I always try to smile thru my tears. I am thankful that I had these two beautiful people in my life, even though it was for a short period of time.

Happy Birthday Mikey!

Thank you very "mush".....

When I got ahold of the new images that will be released tomorrow from Doodle Palace I was sooooo excited that there was a mushroom in there. Don't ask me why but I have always wanted to do a card with a mushroom on it. Since fall is my favorite time of the year I did it in fall tones. I shrunk the mushroom down to 30% & then 20% in size. I cut them out, colored them in with my Prismacolor pencils and mounted the little 'shroom with pop dots. Since I finally got my sewing machine fixed I couldn't resist.....!

I submitted this card for four challenges:

Mojo Monday Sketch challenge

Digital-Ink Co Fall Colors challenge

Cupcake Craft "Thanks a bunch" challenge

Rosie-Dee's Coffee & Cream challenge
